Two 3-Star Wins at the Great Taste Awards 2025 + more!
Baboo Gelato’s Mint Choc Chip Gelato and Crystallised Ginger Gelato win coveted three Stars at the 2025 Great Taste Awards.
The Guild of Fine Foods this week announced the results of its annual Great Taste Awards. These are the Oscars of the UK (and increasingly the Global) food industry. The Guild blind tastes over 14,000 products; only 1.8% win a three Star award. These are the same odds as getting accepted by the NASA astronaut programme. And we’ve won not one but two.
Our Mint Choc Chip Gelato was described as:
“Creamy white and glossy with sizeable chunks of melt-in-the-mouth Belgian chocolate which positively floods the palate. The peppermint oil is well stated, with the authentic flavour profile providing cooling freshness in contrast to the creamy richness of the gelato. Silky smooth and super indulgent; the judges felt this is the best ever mint chocolate chip gelato with true persistence of flavour. Delicious!”
Our Crystallised Ginger Gelato was described as:
“This gleaming white ice cream studded with chunks of zingy ginger is a triumph. The base is velvety smooth, providing a perfect cooling backdrop to the crunch of the warming crystallised ginger. Sweetness levels are well-controlled - this is sensational.”
We also won two stars for our Chocolate orange gelato, and one star for the Rum & raisin gelato. This takes our total number of stars won over the years at the Great Taste to 53.
