We've been sitting on some good news.
A few weeks ago, Taste of the West — the South West's biggest celebration of regional food and drink — announced its 2026 winners. Baboo came away with five medals.
Three Golds:
• Raspberry ripple gelato
• Honeycomb gelato
• Rhubarb sorbet
Two Silvers:
• Jaffa cake gelato
• Coconut gelato
For a small-batch producer making gelato by hand in rural Dorset, this is a big deal. Taste of the West judges are food professionals — chefs, buyers, retailers, food writers — and the awards are blind-tasted. So when five of our flavours come home with medals, it tells us we're doing something right.
The Golds
Raspberry Ripple is one of those flavours that lives or dies on the ripple. Annie makes ours with real raspberries swirled through a soft, milky gelato base — no artificial colours, no flat sweetness, just proper raspberry doing what proper raspberry does. It's part of our core range, so you'll find it in the shop, with our delivery partners, and on counters across the country.
Honeycomb is sunshine in a tub. Crisp shards of honeycomb folded into a vanilla gelato that's just rich enough to hold its own. This one's a trade exclusive — meaning you'll find it on the menu at our wholesale stockists and occasionally in the kiosks, but it's not part of our consumer range.
Rhubarb Sorbet is the surprise of the bunch — sharp, vivid pink, and made with tender pink forced rhubarb from the Yorkshire triangle. It's bright and clean and feels properly grown-up. Also a trade exclusive only in winter.
The Silvers
Jaffa Cake Gelato is exactly what it sounds like: orange and chocolate, that very specific nostalgic combination, recreated as gelato. It makes people grin. Trade exclusive.
Coconut Gelato is creamy, pure, and a brilliant team player on a sundae or alongside a fruit sorbet. Also trade only.
Where to find them
Raspberry Ripple is yours any time for home delivery, online or via your local stockist. The other four winners are part of our trade range — so if you've spotted Baboo at a farm shop, restaurant, café, deli or kiosk recently, ask whether they stock the award-winners.
If you're a trade buyer: hello, and congratulations on your good taste. Give Jess or Ness a call on 01308 488629 (10am–5pm, Mon–Fri) to talk through the range.
A huge thank you to Taste of the West, to the judges, and most of all to Annie, Sam and the whole team at the lab who turn fruit, milk and sugar into something worth giving medals to.
